The Poplar Bluff Historic Depot Restoration Corp (Depot Staircase committee), is a not for profit corporation seeking donations to help restore the monumental and historic Depot Staircase.
The Depot Staircase was built in 1910, making 2010 the 100th Anniversary of the Depot Staircase! The Depot Staircase has been spared from demolition and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. In 2006, the Depot Staircase was added to Missouri’s most endangered historic structure list.
This year’s Iron Horse Festival, October 1, 2011 in downtown Poplar Bluff, will focus on the importance of the train industry in the history of Butler County and the surrounding area. Come see the progress on the depot restoration and take part in a fun event!
All donations will be applied to the restoration construction expenses of the Depot Staircase.

With the approval of the paperwork for the Amtrak Depot roof replacement, it is exciting that we will finally see some progress. I understand the project will go out for bids soon. I would love to see photos of the progress when the project starts.
